European Investment Bank team arrives in Angola

Luanda, Angola, 16 Oct – A Mission from the European Investment Bank (EIB) arrives in Angola on Tuesday to sign a 15 million euros financing contract with TV Cabo Angola and talks with the government and local business chiefs, officials said.

In a statement Monday, the European Commission’s office in Luanda said the EIB mission would remain in Angola until Saturday for contacts with local bodies, especially in the public sector and banking.

Among Luanda officials the EIB team will hold talks with are Finance Minister Pedro de Morais, Planning Minister Ana Dias Lourenço and central bank governor Amadeu Mauricio.

The European delegation will also have contacts with representatives from the banks Fomento de Angola, Milllenium, Totta de Angola and Banco Mundial, as well as officials from state telecommunications firm Angola Telecom and the National Private Investment Agency.

The EIB trip to Angola will also serve to present the bank’s new representative for southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region, Serge Klumper, and Angola, Isabel Costa. (macauhub)
