Macau, China, 23 Oct – Portugal plans to open a Business Center in Singapore to coordinate Portuguese promotion in Japan, Malaysia and, in the future, in Vietnam, the chairman of Portugal’s Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP) told Portuguese news agency Lusa in Macau Monday.
Baílio Horta said that the Singapore Business Center would work, in terms of coordination, along the same lines as the Shanghai Center, which coordinates the work in Beijing and Macau.
The new business center will, for now, work with Tokyo, although the AICEP chairman wants an individual representation in the short term in both Malaysia and Vietnam, a country which in the last few years has grown as an industrial center.
The Asian reorganization of AICEP is directly related to the Government’s priority, with Portugal now represented in the countries and markets considered to be a “priority” said Horta. (macauhub)
