Macau’s inflation rate totals 5 percent in September

Macau, China, 23 Oct – The inflation rate in Macau in the 12 months ended in September totaled 5 percent, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said Monday in Macau.

According to the Bureau, the price index in September rose 0.08 percent against August, rose 5.94 percent against September 2006 and increased 5.19 percent between January and September 2007 against the same period of 2006.

The Special Administrative Region of Macau went through a period of deflation in 2004, and since then has seen a gradual increase in prices.

In 2006 Macau’s rate of inflation totaled 5.2 percent. (macauhub)
