Mozambique: China assesses cooperation projects put forward by Maputo

Maputo, Mozambique, 9 Nov – China is working with Mozambique in areas such as agriculture and education as well as providing interest-free loans and customs tax exemption, China’s ambassador in Maputo, Tian Guangfeng, said Wednesday.

The ambassador said that China would comply with agreements it recently signed with Mozambique to cover areas such as agriculture, education, sport, interest-free loans, debt pardons and customs tax exemption.

The ambassador also said that his country was assessing cooperation projects in the areas of agriculture, expanding the airport and telecommunications submitted by Mozambique.

“As well as this, we have pardoned Mozambican debt worth 134 million yuan,” said the Chinese ambassador to Mozambique.

Tian Guangfeng announced that over two years, from 2008 to 2010, China would provide Mozambique with ant-malarial drugs worth 2 million yuan and also send medical teams to the country. (macauhub)
