China: Zhuhai Helicopter acquires more Sikorsky helicopters

Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, 19 Nov – US company Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. said Friday that the Zhuhai Helicopter division of China Southern Airlines had ordered more helicopters to support offshore oil exploration in the Southern China Sea and in Bohai bay.

Zhuahai Helicopter is the oldest user of Sikorsky helicopters in China having acquired two S-76c and one S-92A.

The company started using the S-76A Sikorsky models in 1984 and since then has used the helicopters to support oil exploration of companies such as China National Offshore Oil Corp, ExxonMobil and Philips.

Zhuhai Helicopter is headquartered in the Chinese special economic zone bordering Macau. (macauhub)
