Sao Paulo, Brazil, 3 Dec – Brazilian imports of products from Macau rose 40 percent year on year in the period from January to October, according to figures from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Brazil’s acquisitions of products from Macau rose from US$4.3 million to US$7.074 million with virgin compact discs (CD-R) contributing significantly to the increase.
From January to October Brazilian companies imported virgin CDs from Macau worth a total US$3.7 million, followed by copper sheeting totaling US$720,000.
Sales of virgin CDs to Brazil rose in October with sales of almost US$291,000, against US$140,000 in the same month of 2006. (macauhub)
