Angola: Presild logistics and distribution program reaches objectives

Luanda, Angola, 11 Dec – The Program for Restructuring of the Logistics and Distribution System of Products Essential to the Population (Presild) has reached the objectives outlined, the deputy trade minister, Manuel da Cruz Neto said Monday in Luanda.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, Cruz Neto said that Presild had made it possible to diversify the products available and impose a new philosophy of customer service.

Set up in November 2006 with the aim of modernizing and organizing retail activities, Presild has since then served 2.5 million customers in 10 stores, four of which in Luanda and others in the provinces of Huila, Bié, Cabinda, Huambo, Benguela and Malanje.

Presild is committed to creating new business opportunities and jobs and its essential aim is to provide essential products to the population, base don fairer prices and greater quality.

By September 2008, Presild plans to build a further 21 supermarkets in the Nosso Super network, bringing the total number to 31, as well as two distribution centers. (macauhub)
