Macau: Governor of Guangdong visits territory to discuss cooperation

Macau, China, 12 Dec – The governor of the mainland Chinese province of Guangdong, Huang Huahua, is due to arrive in Macau Wednesday heading an official delegation to take part in the joint cooperation conference with the Special Administrative Regions of China.

According to the available schedule, the delegation will take part in the joint cooperation conference, a visit to Macau University and the Water Supply Company and will sign an agreement with the local authorities.

Cooperation between Macau and Guangdong is essential for the future of the territory as it is highly dependent on its neighboring province in terms of power, water and consumer goods.

Guangdong, which is considered to be the “engine” driving Chinese development, has a large number of exporting industries and has been responsible for the high rise in Chinese exports.

Located in the south of the country, Guangdong, which borders the Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong and is considered to be the powerhouse of the People’s Republic of China, covers an area of 178,000 square kilometers and has an estimated population of around 92 million people.
