Mozambique: France funds water supply project in Nampula province

Maputo, Mozambique, 26 Dec – France’s AFD state development agency has signed an accord to disburse 2.5 million euros to finance a water supply and sanitation project in the districts of Nacala, Monapo and Meconta in Mozambique’s Nampula province.

The AIM news agency reported that the accord was formalized Friday by France’s ambassador to Mozambique, Thierry Viteau, and Bruno Leclerc on behalf of AFD. Also present at the signing ceremony with Maputo officials was Christophe Legacy of Interaide, the French NGO that will carry out the project.

Ambassador Viteau said the project was scheduled to last four years and was being jointly funded by AFD, with 545,000 euros, and the EU with 1.9 million euros. (macauhub)
