Angola: Trade with Spain totals 466 million euros in 2007

Luanda, Angola, 17 Jan – Trade between Angola and Spain totalled 466 million euros in 2007, the economic and trade advisor of the Spanish Embassy in Luanda, Mariano Muela said in Luanda.

According to Angolan newspaper Jornal de Angola, Angolan exports total 133 million euros, mainly from the sale of oil, and Spain sold many products, mainly industrial equipment and electrical items, to the value of 333 million euros.

The Spanish ambassador, Xavier Vallaure, said that around 30 Spanish companies are currently working in Angola in several activity sectors and that the eight companies that made up the business mission were interested in investing in the country.

The ambassador was speaking in Luanda at the meeting between Angolan businesspeople and the Spanish business mission made up of eight companies that are members of Agragex, an association set up in 1955, which includes 148 Spanish companies in the agricultural materials manufacturing sector.
