Macau, China, 28 Jan – Low cost air carrier Air Asia this year plans to launch three new routes between Macau and Phuket and Chiang Mai, in Thailand, and Jakarta, Indonesia, the company’s chief executive said in Macau Friday.
Speaking to Portuguese news agency Lusa on the sidelines of the ceremony to celebrate the 8th anniversary of Macau as a spacial administrative region (SAR) of China, in which he received the prestigious honor title, Tony Fernandes said that the new routes would be carried out daily and that the Phuket route would be launched in May, Jakarta in June and Chiang Mai in October or November.
Air Asia currently links Macau to four destinations in Malaysia and to Bangkok, Thailand. From Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia passengers can choose multiple destinations, including London, or other long haul flights operated by Air Asia X. (macauhub)
