Portugal: Portuguese construction company to rebuild Praia road network

Lisbon, Portugal, 18 Feb – Portuguese construction company MSF – Moniz da Maia, Serra e Fortunato – Empreiteiros said Friday in Lisbon it had won teh tender to rebuild the road network in the city of Praia, teh cpaital of Cape Verde, a project worth 11.3 million euros.

The contract with Cape Verde’s Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport includes rebuilding the national road of Cidade Velha, the Prainha road, the pavements in “Plateau” and laying asphalt on Rua da Fazenda, in Praia on the island of Santiago.

Work on the project is already underway and is due to be finished in January 2009.

MSF began its activities in Cape Verde in 1997 and in 2002 set up its own cape Verdean subsidiary, MSF Cabo Verde, with headquarters in the city of Mindelo.

MSF Cabo Verde has been involved in projects for construction and reconstruction of roads, airports and industrial facilities.

The Portuguese company is also present in African countries such as Angola, Sao Tome and Principe, Equatorial Guinean, Namibia, Ghana and Senegal. (macauhub)
