Angola: Poland to fund fishing academy in Namibe province

Luanda, Angola, 29 Feb – Poland is to provide funding of US$22 million for the construction of a fishing academy, in the Angolan province of Namibe, the Polish ambassador to Angola, Piotr Mysliwiec said in Luanda Thursday.

Accordingt o Angolan news agency Angop, the diplomat gave this information to teh press at the end of an audience with the Angolan prime minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

Mysliwiec, who gave no schedule for the start of the work, said that the agreement included construction of the academy, providing equipment, as well as teachers to give training to Angolan staff.

The ambassador said that the value of the project could increase, if circumstances demanded it.

The Polish ambassador to Angola also said that political relations between the two countries were good, and that there was “a lot to work on in order to develop economic relations.” (macauhub)
