Angola: Angola Telecom to install new telephone booths across the country

Luanda, Angola, 7 March – Angola Telecom plans to install 1,000 telephone booths per year in the country’s 18 provinces in order to boost the existing number in each location, the company’s spokesman, Manuel César said Thursday in Luanda.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, César said that the new booths had already been purchased and would arrive in the country in the middle of this year, and should be installed by the end of the year.

This year, he said, as part of the company’s plan to expand its telecommunications services, Angola Telecom is expected to put a total of 1,000 booths in operation.

According to César, Angola Telecom currently has 500 telephone booths across the country, many of which have been vandalized.

On 6 March, Angola Telecom celebrated its 16th anniversary. (macauhub)
