China: Hong Kong economy grows 8.4 pct in 2007

Hong Kong, China, 17 March – The Hong Kong economy posted nominal growth of 11.4 percent in 2007 to total 1.67 trillion Hong Kong dollars, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said Friday.

After adjusting nominal growth for inflation, Hong Kong’s gross national product (GDP) rose 8.4 percent in 2007 against 2006.

In the fourth quarter of 1007 Hong Kong’s economy grew by a nominal 14.6 percent year on year to 465.3 billion Hong Kong dollars.

The bureau added that in real terms growth in the fourth quarter was 9.4 percent. (macauhub)
