Guinea Bissau: Bissau hosts Tourism minister conference of Portuguese-speaking countries

Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 20 March – The capital of Guinea Bissau is due to host, on 14 and 15 May, the 5th Conference of Tourism ministers of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), the Guinean director-general for Tourism said Wednesday in Bissau.

Speaking to Portuguese news agency Lusa, Serifo Jaquité said that the Ministry for Commerce, Tourism and Handicraft planned to make use of the opportunity to promote Guinea Bissau’s cuisine and handicrafts as well as presenting the country’s tourism and business potential.

The conference is due to take place on 14 and 15 May, but presentation of the country’s tourism potential is scheduled for between 9 and 18 May.

The events will also serve to introduce the typical food and handicrafts of the different ethnic groups in Guinea Bissau. The two initiatives will take place in the Bissau Velho neighbourhood, next to the old d’Amura fort, in Bissau. (macauhub)
