Las Vegas, USA, 3 April – Sales at Huawei, one of China’s largest telecommunications equipment managers, are expected to rise by 38 percent this year, the company’s marketing director in the United States, Charlie Chen, said in Las Vegas.
During the CTIA wireless telecommunications fair, Chen said that the companies sales were this year expected to total US$22 billion as compared with US$16 billion in 2007.
Last year, 72 percent of Huawei’s sales were made outside of China, as compared with 65 percent a year earlier.
The company competes with companies such as Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia Siemens in the mobile telecommunications segment and with groups such as Nokia, Samsung Electronics and Motorola in the mobile phone market.
Huawei operates in Brazil, Portugal and Angola. (macauhub)
