Angola: BDA bank assesses agricultural and farming projects in Cunene province

Luanda, Angola, 3 April – Technicians from Banco de Desnvolvimento de Angola (BDA) have been in Cunene province since Monday on a six-day visit to assess the feasibility of granting loans to agricultural and farming projects.

The information was given to the press by the head of the policy and program financing department of the bank, João Cunha, at a meeting with agricultural and farming business owners from the province.

The initiative aims, above all to take a snapshot of the agricultural and farming reality in the region, establish potential areas, as well as the possibility of providing funding to local businesspeople.

In an initial phase, the BDA provides US$5 million for each project, with a maximum payback period of eight years.

Meanwhile, according to the schedule of activities, the delegation is due to travel to the municipalities of Kahama, Kwanhama and Ombadja, where it will visit some farms. (macauhub)
