Luanda, Angola, 23 April – An agreement to carry out joint projects in the areas of agricultural and animal husbandry was signed Tuesday in Luanda by the Angolan Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, Pedro Canga, and his Cape Verdean counterpart, Madalena das Neves.
According to Angolan news agency Angop, Canga said that with the signing of this deal conditions had been established to carry out joint projects in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry as well as to improve business cooperation in those areas.
“It is worthwhile for us to makes use of the comparative advantages of our countries to solve some of our problems. Cape Verde has great experience in the area of reforestation and environmental management and Angola is experienced in agronomic and veterinary research,” the minister said.
Madalena das Neves, the Cape Verdean Agriculture and Environment minister, said that her country planned to enhance cooperation in these areas as well as to create a framework for development of business relations.
Das Neves is due to return to Cape Verde Wednesday after arriving in Luanda on 21 April, and her visit was part of the Basic Agreement on Economic, Technical, Scientific, Social and Cultural Cooperation. (macauhub)
