Sao Paulo, Brazil, 24 April – Chinese company Kexinda Aosibo Ceramic Technology signed a protocol of intention to set up a factory in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, a Sebrae/MS official told macauhub.
According to the president of the Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Enterprises (SEBRAE), Luiza Cláudio Fornari, the Chinese group was negotiating construction of a unit in Mato Grosso do Sul to produce machinery use in the ceramics industry.
The Brazilian businessman said that the Chinese group had no date as yet to move ahead with the project, but that officials from both countries were in daily contact.”
According to Fornari, the Chinese group was in Brazil to find out about the ceramics potential of Mato Grosso do Sul, including visits to clay deposits in Rio Verde and Coxim, in the north of the Brazilian state.
Fornari said that the Chinese company first met with businesspeople from Mato Grosso do Sul last year, during a visit by a business mission from the State to the Guangzhou Fair, in China.
“The machinery factory for the ceramics sector is a pioneering project in the region, which is perhaps the least industrialised area in Brazil. There is a need to develop the region and this initiative show the potential of our state,” said Fornari.
The Chinese group is headquartered in Foshan, Guangdong province, the region responsible for production of a quarter of the world’s ceramics, according to Sebrae/MS. (macauhub)
