Uíge, Angola, 30 April – Private Angolan company Lima Lima is investing US$4 million in the refurbishment, expansion and modernisation of Grande Hotel do Uíge, the provincial trade, hotel and industry director, Baptista Bunga said in Uíge Tuesday.
Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, in the city of Uíge, Bunga said that the work, which was the responsibility of a Chinese construction company, was in its final stages, and noted that the unit could be attributed a four-star rating.
He also said that the hotel would have 60 rooms, a fully-equipped conference room, a swimming pool, convenience store and gym.
He said that re-opening Grande Hotel do Uíge would be an important event, as it would reduce the problem of a lack of accommodation in the province.
Eight hotel units, four of which are in the municipal are of Negage, three in Uíge and one in Sanza Pombo, amongst other similar units, are controlled by the provincial Commerce directorate, three of which are currently being refurbished. (macauhub)
