Uíge, Angola, 7 May – Chinese state company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), has already levelled 50 of the 120 kilometres of roads that are being rebuilt between the towns of Uíge and Nsosso, in Uíge province, the local director of the Angola National Roads Institute (INEA), José Ribeiro said.
Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, Tuesday, Ribeiro said that the rehabilitation of that stretch of road was at an advanced stage.
He also said that as the rainy season had ended the contractor would now carry out foundation work on the road in order to be able to lay asphalt on it this year.
He noted that the other 172 kilometres of the road between Kifangondo, Caxito and Uíge, starting at the bridge over the river Dange, passing through the city of Uíge and as far as Negage municipality, we currently in the final stages of work, with 95 percent of asphalting work completed. (macauhub)
