Luanda, Angola, 19 May – A group of Angolan companies plans to invest US$42.6 million on rebuilding the Cuca beer factory, located in Huambo province, which came to a halt 16 years ago, Angolan news agency Angop reported Friday.
The agency cited a report from the Provincial Directorate for Industry as saying that preliminary work was already underway to fence off and prepare a space where construction materials will be stored.
Without giving a timeline for the work, the report said that rebuilding Cuca was an important step in the development of the p+rovince’s industrial sector.
Before the post-electoral civil war broke out in 1992, Huambo province had four industrial hubs that included small, medium and large factories.
The Huambo industrial hub currently has most of its infrastructure destroyed. (macauhub)
