22 May 2008

Praia, Cape Verde, 22 May – The contract for construction of the out-patients and maternity buildings, both in Agostinho Neto Hospital, in Praia, is due to be signed Thursday in Cape Verde by China.

These are two important facilities for the Cape Verdean capital, which will substantially improve the conditions for providing healthcare and increase the hospital’s capacity to respond.

The two projects are expected to cost US$3 million and take 14 months to build.

Beijing is this year also due to fund construction of three secondary schools in Salineiro, on Santiago Island, in Achada Bolanha, on S. Miguel Island, and in Cova Figueira, Fogo Island.

Construction of the country’s National Stadium is also due to begin soon. (macauhub)
