Angola: First section of Luanda peripheral highway concluded by December

Luanda, Angola, 27 May – Asphalting of the first section of the Luanda peripheral highway linking Cacuaco/Viana/Cabolombo is expected to be concluded by the end of the year, the director-general of construction company Queiroz Galvão Sucursal Angola, José Diniz told Angolan news agency Angop.

The Cacuaco/Viana/Cabolombo peripheral road is split into two sections, one that is 22 kilomtres long and the other that is 33 kilometres long, which is the responsibility of Brazilian construction company Odebrecht.

According to Diniz, one of the lanes in its section of the highway will be asphalted by next August and the project is due to be concluded by December.

The road will be 42.40 meters wide, and have two lanes running in each direction.

When it is open to traffic, the road will imnprove the link between the municipal áreas of Cacuaco, Viana, Samba and Kilamba-Kiaxi, as well as Access to the new airport, the future University Campus and other social facilities under construction close to these roads. (macauhub)
