Sao Paulo, Brazil, 28 May – A partnership between Nitro Group, which is headquartered in Shanghai, and Brazilian advertising agency Santa Clara will make it possible for the Chinese company to expand its marketing business across Latin America, a director of the Sao Paulo company told Macauhub.
“We officially closed the joint venture deal this month, but we have been in negotiations for six months. “This is a business partnership with the possibility of them buying shares,” said Ulisses Zamboni, who manages the planning sector for Santa Clara.
“We can’t give a period for working within this system, but I can say that this cooperation will last for up to two years, with the possibility of acquisition by Nitro before that,” he said.
Zamboni said that the marketing group, which also has offices in London, Melbourne, New York, Brisbane and Moscow, was looking for a partner in Latin America and contacted Santa Clara just over six months ago.
The first official job, after signing the joint venture, will be for vehicle manufacturer Volvo.
“Their aim is to grow in this region and their main focus is Brazil.”
Founded in 2006, Santa Clara has a customer portfolio that includes, amongst other, Coca-Cola and Fox Channel, and has been awarded some prizes, such as the Bronze Lion at the 2007 Cannes Lions advertising cinema festival.
Founded in Shanghai in 2002 by Australian Chris Clarke, the Nitro Group has customers such as American Express, Nike, L´Oréal, Diesel, Sony Playstation, Bacardi, Mars, Kraft, Volvo, Unilever and Coca-Cola, amongst others. (macauhub)
