9 June 2008

Luanda, Angola, 9 June – The Angolan minister for Transport, Augusto da Silva Tomás said in Luanda Friday that he was to issue instructions so that, in the short term, the trains from the Luanda Railroad (CFL) will arrive in Malanje province.

At the end of a visit to the Luanda railway facilities, the minister highlighted to journalists the efforts made by CFL to conclude the project for rebuilding the capital’s railway line and the arrival of trains in Malanje.

During the visit, Augusto Tomás noted that 10 kilometres of railroad still needed to be built from Viana station to Baía station.

On his visit to a sleeper factory in Bengo province, Tomás was told by Chinese technicians that the factory was waiting for cement stored at Luanda port in order to manufacture the sleepers needed for the 10 kilometres of line. (macauhub)
