Luanda, Angola, 13 June – The quay and fuel unloading terminal of company Sonangol Integrated Logistic Service (Sonils) were opened in Luanda Thursday, after work began in 2006.
The quay, which represents an investment of US$65 million, is 750 metres long and its 12.5 metres of draught allow ships weighing up to 42,000 tonnes to moor there.
In its turn, the fuel terminal aims to make fuel supply easier, prevent stocks running out and reducing unloading time for oil tankers.
Angolan news agency Angop reported that 140 ANgolans and 311 Chiense staff worked on this project.
According to the director of Sonils, Carlos Fernandes Fonseca, the opening of the quay and the fuel terminal will support, “new developments in oil activities” and the country’s growth. (macauhub)
