Macau: Macau’s inflation rate totals 7.71 percent in June

Macau, China, 21 Jan – The inflation rate in Macau at the end of June was 7.71 percent, in a month in which prices saw a rise of 9.05 percent against March of 2007, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said Monday in Macau.

In June there were significant increases in the classes of Food and non-alcoholic drinks, Health, Transport and Recreation and, Housing and Fuel.

According to the Bureau in the first half Macau’s CPI rose 9.0 percent against the same period of 2007.

As compared with May, CPI rose 1.11 percent in June, with rises in the classes of clothing and footwear (2.86 percent), food and non-alcoholic drinks (1.97 percent) and transport (1.33 percent). (macauhub)
