Sydney, Australia, 1 Aug – Australian oil company Roc Oil announced Thursday in Sydney that it would start drilling the last of seven exploratory oil wells in Angola after the failure of the Seasmo-1 field.
The platform used at Sesamo-1 will be taken 12 kilometres southeast to drill the Arroz-1 well, the company said in a regulatory filing with the Australian stock Exchange, adding that at Sesamo-1 neither gas nor oil were found.
In Cabinda, Roc Oil, in partnership with Force Petroleum and Sonangol, started drilling wells over a year ago, having found oil in the Massambala-1 and Coco-1 wells, but which is not commercially-viable.
As well as Angola, Roc Oil is prospecting for oil in Mauritania and in China. (macauhub)
