Luanda, Angola, 6 Aug -The World Bank has approved a project valued at US$ 113.2 million aimed to improve water supply in several Angolan regions and the project will be implemented between 2011 and 2015, state news agency Angop has reported.
In the first stage of the project, US$ 57 million will be granted to boost institutional capacities of water sector agencies, in addition to improving access to the product, a statement from the World Bank said.
The project will contribute to improving water supply networks in the Angolan cities of Malanje, Kuito, Ndalatando, Uige, Huambo, Luena, Lubango and M’banza Congo. The World Bank loan will also allow better management of water resources, modernization of supply systems and improved management of the sector nationwide. (macauhub)
