Maputo, Mozambique, 1 Sept – Over 400 Mozambican and foreign companies are exhibiting their products between Monday and Sunday at the 44th Maputo International Fair, which is still known by its previous acronym, FACIM, which stood for Mozambique Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Fair.
Figures published by the fair’s organiser, Sociedade Gestora de Feiras, Exposições e Congressos (Sogex) showed that during this year’s fair there are plans for conferences, working meetings and exhibitions on various business opportunities, along with the usual national days reserved for the promotion of the commercial potential of the countries taking part in the fair.
The Mozambican Institute for Promotion of Exports (Ipex), together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC), has prepared a pavilion to house all of the country’s provinces, covering an area of 1,238 square metres.
According to the event’s programme, Mozambique Day will be on Saturday, when Prime Minister Luísa Diogo will visit the fair and award prizes for the best exhibitors in the Ipex pavilion, direct national exhibitors and foreign exhibitors.
In terms of foreign participants, Portugal, Tanzania, Kenya, Spain, Botswana, Turkey, South Africa, Italy, Angola, Malawi, Macau, Zambia, Swaziland, Brazil and Indonesia are taking part in Facim 2008. (macauhub)
