5 September 2008

Maputo, Mozambique, 5 Sept – An Institute for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) may be created in Mozambique before the end of the year, the country’s national Industry director, Sérgio Macamo said in Maputo.

Macamo said that the institution would start operating by December, with the aim of helping the development of SMEs in Mozambique, which are faced with serious problems that affect their sustainability.

The national director for industry also said that studies for the creation of the institute had been concluded and it was hoped they would soon be submitted to the Council of Ministers for analysis and approval.

“We have finished all the studies and now plan for the creation of the institute to be scheduled for the Council of Ministers sessions in this month of September,” Macamo said. (macauhub)
