Mozambique: Beermaker Cervejas de Moçambique to build factory in Nampula

Maputo, Mozambique, 9 Oct – Mozambican beer manufacturer, Cervejas de Moçambique (CdM) plans to build a new beer factory in Nampula, by November 2009, investing some US$50 million, according to online newspaper, Diário do País.

The paper added that the new factory, work on which is due to start this month, will employ 200 people directly and another 200 indirectly.

The factory’s installed capacity, the reoprt said, would be around 400 hectolitres per year, and could incraese to a maximum of 1,000 hectolitres per year.

The board of directors of CdM recently travelled to Nampula to assess the plot of land on which the new Nampula beer factory is to be built.

CdM is a subsidiary of South Africa’s SABMiller, one of the world’s biggest beer making companies. (macauhub)
