Macau, China, 16 Oct – Portugal is taking part in this year’s edition of the Macau International Fair with 22 companies from the hotels and services industries, with the aim of boosting regional and local opportunities.
Portugal will be represented by companies such as Grupo Espírito Santo, Pinto Basto, Global Parques, Clap Corporation, Hovione, Grupo Amorim and Efacec at the fair, held between 23 and 26 October.
“All of these companies will be at the International Macau Fair because they already have a high level of internationalisation in China, and not just in Macau.” said Miguel Crespo, of Portugal’s Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP) for Macau, Hong Kong and South Korea.
Crespo said that, looking at the number of companies taking part, the presence at the fair was smaller than in previous years, “but shows a jump to another level in terms of turnover that the companies have in China.”
Crespo added that Portugal’s business presence at the fair, “spontaneously attracted the sectors that are present,” but that 2008, “should end with a very significant jump, against 2007, in presence at specialised fairs or missions to the market,” in the region.
Portugal’s exhibition area, which is 315 square metres in size will include all of the Portuguese companies present at the Macau International Fair. (macauhub)
