Macau, China, 21 Oct – The 13th edition of the Macau International Fair is due to begin Thursday with a total of 256 world delegations from 57 countries and territories, the biggest number of exhibitors in the fair’s history.
Between Thursday and Sunday, the Macau International Fair will be held at the convention complex of The Venetian hotel and casino, with a component of “greater internationalisation,” as noted by Lee Peng Hong, the president of the Institute for Promotion of Trade and Investment (IPIM), which organises the event.
As well as international participants, such as the European Union (EU) which accounts for 13 percent of all participants, the 2008 edition of the fair will have a significant local component with the attendance of 37 associations from Macau.
Lee Peng Hong also said that 167 companies from countries such as Indonesia, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Romania, Denmark and Malaysia had made requests to do business in this area in Macau.
China’s presence – with over 70 delegations from 15 mainland provinces – once again has a significant position at the fair. (macauhub)
