Luanda, Angola, 30 Oct – Angola’s National Plan for 2009 outlines activities to create 320,000 jobs next year, thus reducing the unemployment rate to around 22.5 percent, the country’s Planning Minister, Ana Dias Lourenço said Wednesday in Luanda.
According to the minister, who was speaking at the end of the first session of the Council of Ministers, the government plans to focus its attention on impriving the living conditions of the population.
“Actions have been identified to ensure improved housing conditions for the population, improving access to drinking water by the population, combating endemic diseases and re-launching our economy,” she explained.
The National Plan also includes macroeconomic tasks, with a view to maintaining the stability of the Angolan economy.
The programme also includes other State tasks for intervention and support of the private and public sector, such as setting up development hubs, particulalry in special economic areas. (macauhub)
