Cuito, Angola, 7 Nov – The Joaquim Kapango Airport, in the Angolan city of Cuito, which ahs been under reconstruction since 2004, is due to be completed within the next 20 days, the engineer responsible for the project carried out by Empresa de Terraplenagem e Pavimentações (Paviterra) said Thursday.
According to Angolan news agency Angop, Sérgio Fernandes said that currently only work to finish drainage channels and laying asphalt was being carried out.
Fernandes said that work on fencing and landscaping of the area next to the airport had already been finished.
The airport’s runway, which is 60 metres wide and 1,065 metres long, after it opens will be able to receive small medium and large-sized aircraft. (macauhub)
