Brazil: Sao Paulo amongst top 10 world cities for business

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 17 Dec – The city of Sao Paulo is one of the top ten cities in the world considered to be most attractive to be the headquarters of global companies, according to a survey carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers, published Tuesday in Brazil.

The cities of London, Shanghai and New York are the top three ranked cities in a list that also includes Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Paris, Mumbai and San Francisco.

The survey, requested by “Think London,” the UK direct foreign investment agency, surveyed over 200 upper managers of companies undergoing international expansion, in the United States, the European Union, Japan and BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries, in the first half of 2008.

The main aspect considered by the executives interviewed on assessing the attractiveness of cities is Access to the market, measured by proximity to large consumer markets, or with high growth potential.

Other characteristics valued by global companies are availability of professional services, reasonable regulatory costs, Professional ability to sustain business development, multi-cultural interaction and innovation.(macauhub)
