Nacala, Mozambique, 20 Jan – The Mozambican city of Nacala will have a plstic products factory in operation in February, following an investment of 15 million meticais, the factory’s manager Justino Vicente said.
The manager told newspaper, O País that the initiative to build a factory in Nacala firstly aimed to create jobs in the country and secondly to reduce the level of imports of plastic items by Mozambique from neighbouring countries.
The factory will have a production capacity of 100 tonnes of plastic utensils per month, which will be offered for sale both on the domestic market and in neighbouring countries, namely Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania.
The factory is currently operating experimentally, and normal operation is due to begin in the first week of February. (macauhub)
