Ondjiva, Angola, 12 Feb – Modernisation of the terminal at the “11 de Novembro” airport in Ondjiva, in the Angolan province of Cunene, is in its final stages with the installation of smaller types of equipment and the end of work in the car park, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

According to the director of Ondjiva Airport, António Sangabi, work on the terminal was valued at US$9.262 million and aimed to provide the facility with a capacity to process between 400 and 500 passengers per hour.

With this work, the Ondjiva airport terminal will cover around 2,000 square metres, have an area reserved for State Protocol services, two units for departures and arrivals, as well as airport operation offices.

The improvements to the buildings also include administrative areas, transit passenger support services with travelators and a public car park.

Ondjiva airport, which is the only one in Angola to include new Technologies, introduced during its refurbishment in 2004, has a system that allows pilots to regulate the lighting on the runway. (macauhub)
