Mozambique: Chinese business owners from Hubei want to invest in Mozambique

18 February 2009

Maputo, Mozambique, 18 Feb – A delegation of business owners from the Chinese province of Hubei, led by deputy governor Tian Chengzhong, is currently in Maputo to find ways of launching their investment projects in Mozambique with the Mozambican authorities.

The Chinese plan to invest US$26 million in the areas of pipe manufacturing, US$500,000 in setting up a limousine repair workshop and US$3 million in water supply using energy generated by solar panels.

In order to make these deals viable, the Mozambican Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Hubei provincial government Thursday and Friday organised an exhibition of products from that Chinese province.

Called “Trade and Investment, Republic of Mozambique – Hubei Province,” the exhibition will end with a seminar on trade and investment. (macauhub)
