Mozambique: Rio Tinto prospecting for minerals in Inhambane

Maputo, Mozambique, 19 Feb – The world’s largest mining company, US firm Rio Tinto is carrying out prospecting surveys in the Mozambican province of Inhambane in the south of the country, the Mozambican Centre for Investment Promotion (CPI) said in Maputo.

The surveys are being carried out in the districts of Inharrime and Jangamo, in the south of the province.

According to the provincial director for Inhambane’s mining resources, Custodio Nguetane, the work is already providing encouraging results, with the possibility of the occurrence of ilmenite, rutilium and zircon. (macauhub)
