Luanda, Angola, 27 Feb – The government of Angola plans to attract German investors to the oil and gas sector during a visit by President José Eduardo dos Santos Friday to Germany, according to the Angolan Oil Minister, Botelho de Vasconcelos.
Speaking to the state press before the President set off on his visit to Germany, Botelho de Vasconcelos noted that the two countries had “no development relationship” in the sector for which he was responsible.
“With Germany, in relation to this sector, we as yet have no relationship under development and we will seek poetntial opportunities,” the minister said.
Vasconcelos noted that Angola aimed to boost and expand the gas sector.
The minister added that one of the aims of the visit was to “raise awareness about the existing potential in Angola in order to attract German businesspeople to work with us.”
Botelho de Vasconcelos added that “the oil sector is a sector that continues to grow and where demand from investors from various places is extremely important.” (macauhub)
