Angola: CAN2010 visitors not expected to have problems with accommodation

27 February 2009

Luanda, Angola, 27 Feb – Angola will be able to accommodate the visitors that travel to the country for the Africa Cup of Nations championship (CAN2010), the country’s Hotels and Tourism Minister, Pedro Mutindi said in Luanda cited by Angolan news agency Angop.

According to Mutindi, who was speaking during a visit to four hotels under construction in Luanda, private investments underway across the country and other government projects would cover any lack of accommodation.

According to Mutindi, weaknesses and difficulties have already been identified. However, current conditions in the hotel sector could already provide some guarantees and response to demand could be improved as investments increase.

Mutindi visited the Diamante, Skina Vip, Baía and VIP Grande Luanda hotels, the latter with 370 rooms in total.

The Angolan government has projected construction of a further 28 hotels across the country by 2011. (macauhub)
