Lubango, Angola, 4 March – Angolan business group Ginjeiras has invested US$15 million to extend a brick production factory in Huíla province, the group’s managing partner, José Ginjeiras told Angolan news agency Angop.
Ginjeiras said that that amount would be used to set up a further two production lines and increase daily output from 30,000 to 50,000 bricks per day, with a view to supplying the south of the country (Namibe, Cunene and Kuand Kubango, Bié, Huambo and Benguela) with these construction materials.
The businessman said that the group this year planned to conclude building work on shoring up the structure of the factory and open a branch in the Caculuvale area (on the outskirts of the city of Lubango), which is an area rich in raw materials.
The group’s aim, he said, was to increase supply, which he noted was insufficient to meet growing demand.
The group launched its business in 2007 with initial capital of US$10 million. (macauhub)
