Lisbon, Portugal, 9 March – Portuguese construction company Teixeira Duarte has been awarded the contract for construction of Angola’s new parliament building, a project estimated to cost US$80 million, according to the online version of newspaper Jornal de Negócios.
The building will be located at Bispo beach, which is the administrative centre of Luanda, and construction is scheduled to take between three and four years, the paper said.
In Angola, along with the construction sector, Teixeira Duarte is involves in sectors such as hotels, restaurants and car sales.
As well as Teixeira Duarte, Portugal’s main construction company’s operate in the Angolan market, such as Mota-Engil and Soares da Costa, which see the country as a priority market. (macauhub)
