Maputo, Mozambique, 12 March – A factory to assemble computers is due to start operating this month in Maputo under the terms of a partnership between the Ministry fo Science and Technology and South African company Sahara, Mozambican newspaper Notícias reported.
The paper said that the factory would assemble 48 computers per day in its first year, or 960 units per month and 11,520 units per year.
In its second year, the factory’s production is expected to rise to 80 units per day.
Sahara Computers is specialised in manufacturing and assembling computers and has its headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, with offices and research and development centres in various African countries including Botswana and Namibia, as well as in the United Kingdom, China, Dubai and India.
