Sao Tome and Principe: Taiwan funds water supply system in Sao Tome

24 March 2009

São Tome, Sao Tome and Principe, 24 March – A water supply system funded by Taiwan was inaugurated in São Tomé e Príncipe, aimed at resolving the long-standing problem of drinking water supply to the country’s main military headquarters.

Ambassador John Chen said at the ceremony that Taiwan would continue to support cooperation programs with Sao Tomé e Príncipe and would support other infrastructure projects.

The contractor of the water system, a company called ABC, said that the two tanks, with a total capacity of 105,000 litres, could supply the military headquarters for around 72 hours if the main system fails. (macauhub)
