Mozambique: Mozambique buys cement from Vietnam

Cam Pha, Vietnam, 30 March – Vietnamese cement company Cam Pha Wednesday sent off its first order of 12,500 tonnes of cement to Mozambique, the company said in a statement.

Cam Pha Cement is a subsidiary of the Viet Nam Construction and Import Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) and the contract to export cement was signed last year.

As well as selling in its domestic market, Cam Pha Cement exports to markets in Europe, the Middle East and South America..

The company signed contracts with Pionaire Finance to export 40,000 tonnes of cement to South Africa and with Universal Best Services to export clinker and cement to the United States and South America.

Cam Pha’s cement factory represents an investment of US$377 million and has the capacity to produce 2.3 million tonnes of cement per year. (macauhub)
